A Psychological and Emotional Guide to Successfully Thru-Hiking the Appalachian Trail
by Zach Davis
While full of references to his 2011 thru-hike, this successful blogger’s book of opinion truly focuses on preparation for end-to-end treks, from a younger point of view than most such guides.

Zack Davis' insights are well worth reading. He has assembled valuable information that would surely help any prospective thru-hiker. His writing style is straight-forward and humorous. A pleasure to read. There were numerous editing errors that stand out, but who really cares? The content was what made the book so enjoyable and informative. Even if you're not interested in backpacking you will enjoy Zach's book.
