The A.T. Guide, with a horizontal and icon-centric format for A.T. hikes, aligns landmarks to elevation profiles in an at-a-glance fashion, rather than tables, with text and 80 town maps to fill out the guidance. Updated each year, this guide is designed for northbound thru-hikes.

This guide helps with landmarks, water sources and unofficial campsites on the trail. It also helps with phone #s of shuttle services and backpacker specials near the trail. I can attest that the Holly Inn in Mt Holly Springs did come out and pick us up on the trail and dropped us off the next morning with no extra charge. The Inn was clean, reasonably priced and had a restaurant with a liquor license and open mic night for entertainment. Stanimals in Waynesboro, VA also picked us up and then shuttled us to Mings with no extra charge other than one night at his Hostel.
