Store Renovation

Posted

You may have noticed a few changes over the previous months. Here at the Ultimate Appalachian Trail Store, we are well into a virtual store renovation – spring cleaning plus new looks. We are working to improve your experience by providing updated photos and descriptions for all of our products. Even our categories have been revamped a bit. Our goal is to make it easier for you to not only shop, but also support the A.T., as all proceeds go back into the preservation of the Trail.

Just a few of the improvements you can enjoy now…

Planning by State

Appalachian Trail Map We now offer pages dedicated to each state in order to make planning for an Appalachian Trail hike easier. Whether you are planning a thru-hike, LASH, or day hike, you can now find all of our guides, maps, and books for a particular state in one place.

What you'll find:

  • official Appalachian Trail Guide Sets
  • official Appalachian Trail Maps
  • National Geographic A.T. Maps
  • books on the Best Hikes of the Appalachian Trail
  • and products related to other trails in that region (where available).

To enhance your planning efforts, pair our “Planning by State” pages with the ATC's  interactive map, and don't forget to check out our section on preparing for an A.T. hike.

Guide Sets and Maps

Maine Map Locations The pages for official Appalachian Trail Guide Sets and official Appalachian Trail Maps now offer more comprehensive descriptions and detailed photos to help you find the right item more quickly. From mileage covered to major landmarks, you'll easily be able to determine which guide set and maps will get you to the place you seek on the Trail.

Know where you want to start or what section you want to complete, but not which guide set or map it is in?
Product descriptions now contain the starting and end point for each map, as well as information on map scale and contour intervals.

Would you rather see this broken out on a map of the A.T.?
We've used our popular Appalachian Trail Strip Map Poster to help you determine what area is covered by each set or map. The approximate beginning and end point for each map, and therefore guide set, is clearly marked. Scroll through the product images to find the map breakdown. Coming soon... you’ll even be able to zoom on the images for better viewing!

Start planning your Appalachian Trail hike today! For additional planning materials, check out our other  A.T. guides including the valuable Thru-Hiker Starter Pack, and/or visit the Explore section of our main site.

We have even more improvements on the way, so keep your eyes out for our exciting updates. As always, if you have trouble finding something you are looking for, give us a call toll free at (888) 287-8673. We are available to help you place an order or answer any questions Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., ET.
